Partners In Crime Share Same Fate!

Two men robbed a convenience store in a small Michigan suburb.
On their way out of the store they ran into each other. One
man's gun discharged and the bullet struck the other man in the
leg. The uninjured robber asked the store clerk to call 911 and
started out the door.
Mad about what had happened and the fact that his partner in
crime was leaving him behind, the injured robber shot his
partner in the leg. Both men were rushed to the hospital. Both
survived their injuries.
They were charged with armed robbery and a host of other felony
charges related to the shooting incident. The total sum of the
cash they got in the robbery was less than $50. But, because it
was armed robbery and shots were actually fired causing injury
to each man, they received very long prison terms.

A Noteworthy Crime!
___________________
A man in South Carolina robbed a restaurant by writing a note
demanding the cashier give him all the money in her cash drawer.
The cashier complied and the robber made his get-away.
This dumb criminal made the mistake of writing his demand note
on the back of a bank check for which he had a valid account.
The police arrested him at his home approximately one hour after
the crime had been committed. His name and address were easily
traced through his banking account.

Help 911! I'm Hanging Upside Down!

A 911 dispatcher in Oregon received a call from a man hanging by
one ankle from a fire escape leading to an apartment.
Fortunately, for this man, he had a cell phone and was able to
call 911. Unfortunately, after being rescued, it was discovered
that he had burglarized the apartment and had used the fire
escape to make his exit.
In his attempt to escape, he stepped through a hole in the fire
escape ladder and nearly fell to his death. He hung upside down
for almost twenty minutes before he decided to call 911. After
being rescued, he was taken to the hospital and treated for a
broken ankle.
He was charged and later convicted of the burglary. Among the
items he stole was the cell phone that saved his life.

Strange And Bizarre Laws!
_________________________
Some of these laws are still actually on the books, while others
no longer exist. In any case, I hope you find them amusing and
somewhat thought provoking.
_________________________________________________________________
A national law, in England, forbids a boy under the age of ten
years from seeing a naked mannequin.
In Haifa, Israel, you are not allowed to bring your bear to
the beach.
In Denmark, if you are a prisoner, there is no law making it
illegal to attempt an escape. You must finish your prison term,
only if caught.
In the Netherlands, prostitution is legal. In fact, anyone
participating in this profession must pay taxes.
Women Beware! If you live in Montana, you could get arrested for
opening your husband's mail. In fact, it is considered a felony.
Do they have whales in Nebraska? I don't think so! But a state
law makes fishing for whales illegal.
A state law in New York requires that you buy a license in
order to hang clothes on a clothesline.
In Los Angeles, an old law makes it illegal for a husband to
beat his wife with a strap that is wider than two inches. But,
he can use a wider strap if he receives her consent.
Another Los Angeles law forbids anyone, testifying in court,
from crying on the witness stand.
State law in Georgia makes it illegal to keep your donkey in
a bathtub.
In Atlanta, Georgia, its illegal to tie your giraffe to a
street light or a telephone pole.
A state law in South Dakota forbids anyone from falling
asleep or lying down in a cheese factory.

Man Steals Pigs For Breast Implants!
____________________________________
A Wisconsin man rustled pigs worth at least $100,000. He did
this to raise funds to pay for breast implants for a stripper
he was particularly fond of. She worked in a local strip club,
but was not aware of her admirer's efforts to improve her bust
line. The man was arrested, charged and found guilty. He is
now serving a ten year prison term.

The Case Of Mistaken Identity!
_____________________________
After shopping for groceries, a woman returned to her car only
to discover that she had left it unlocked and with the key in
the ignition. This was very unusual! She had always been
careful in the past to lock her car. This was the very first
time she had left the keys in the ignition.
Confused and puzzled about how she could be so forgetful, the
woman drove off from the parking lot and headed for her home.
As she pulled into her driveway, she noticed the blue lights
of a police car directly behind her car. She got out of her
car to find out what was going on. A police officer had his
gun drawn and commanded the woman to put her hands in the air.
Frightened and even more confused, the woman asked the
policeman what she had done. The officer explained that she
was being placed under arrest for stealing the car she was
driving.
She tried to explain that it was her car, and that she had
just returned from shopping at the local grocery store. The
officer told her that the owner of the car reported that a
woman was driving away in his car. The owner provided police
with the license plate number and a description of the car and
the woman.
When the officer checked the license plate, it matched the
name and address of the man reporting the theft of his car.
The registration in the glove compartment also matched. It
then dawned on the woman that she had entered the wrong car.
The car she drove from the grocery store was almost an
identical match to her own car. It was the same make, model,
color and year, and was in almost the same condition.
After police investigated further, they were able to determine
that this was a case of mistaken identity. In her confusion
over leaving her car unlocked and the keys in the ignition,
she didn't notice the difference in the key chain and the
number of other keys. She didn't notice any other differences
that may have existed between her car and the one she drove
away.
No charges were filed. In fact, the police arranged for the
woman to drive the man's car back to the grocery store so she
could return it to it's real owner, and so she could retrieve
her own car.
